IBF Announces Key Leadership Appointments

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) is pleased to announce the appointments of Ben Keilty as Chairman of the Ratings Committee and George Martinez as Championships Chairman. These leadership changes reflect the IBF’s continued commitment to integrity, experience, and growth.

Ben Keilty brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Chairman of the Ratings Committee. He was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Ratings Committee specifically overseeing the Female Ratings in September of 2021and has played an integral role on the committee since then. Keilty’s career in boxing began with Boxrec in 2007, followed by an extensive judging career, officiating 265 bouts from 2008-2015. In 2010 he joined the IBF as a member, and by 2015 became a Supervisor for the IBF Pan Pacific Region overseeing numerous championship bouts since then. Keilty was elected to the IBF Board of Directors in 2018 during the organization’s convention in Saint Vincent, Italy.

George Martinez now serving as the IBF Championships Chairman is very familiar with the responsibilities of the role. He joined the World Boxing Association (WBA) in 2000 as President of the North American Boxing Association (NABA). Over a noted 20-year tenure, Martinez held several key roles within the WBA, including Directorate Member and Ranking Committee Member. In 2004, he led the Female Championships Committee for the WBA. He went on to serve as the WBA Championships Chairman in 2016 and was appointed Ranking Chairman in 2018, a position he held until his resignation in October 2020. Martinez was appointed to Ratings Chairman of the IBF in September of 2021 and now transitions to his new role.

The IBF looks forward to these two gentlemen working together and bringing their deep understanding of the sport to their new roles. They will continue to work closely with Carlos Ortiz, Jr. who remains with the organization as Vice-Chairman of the Championships Committee.
