Jacobs, (35-2, 29KO) nicknamed the ‘Miracle Man’ due to his personal battle against bone cancer, went mostly toe to toe against his stablemate Derevyanchenko, and after registering the fights only knockdown in the first frame, Jacobs went on to score a split decision win at the scores of 115-112 twice and 114-113.
The Brooklynite began his fistic career in 2007 and was making his second bid at an International Boxing Federation title. In March 2017 Jacobs faced Gennady Golovkin for the IBF 147 pound title and lost via decision in a competitive bout.
